Something’s not right

No Change

I log on hoping things have changed but they still haven't. I still cannot read or chat in any thread. Doesn't matter if its new, old, mine.

Yes I've reported a technical issue, no I haven't heard back

Don't think I'm being rude, but no I cannot respond to you on here. Can only read it if I'm logged out.

Like a lot of others, being on here is a struggle. A once safe place doesn't feel that way anymore.

I've been trying to keep some hope but there's not much left.

Yes I've tried to do the right thing and reached out elsewhere for help.

Re: No Change

@Snowie lovely to hear from you. Things are ok here, a bit more grounded for now which is nice. How are you going? And how is your mum going?

Re: No Change

Hi @Bow! How’s your day going? I loved reading your post 🤗💛.

Wow it’s really interesting to hear about your sleep study. All that stuff fascinates me, the brain in general! It does sound very intense, esp the narcolepsy one 🤯. I’ll be thinking of you re results and hoping for the best for you.

It’s lovely to hear you have a good connection with your social worker and you think she also has a good set of skills and is supportive that’s really awesome. Always worth there weight in gold hey. I really really value good health professionals/ and supports honestly they don’t come around that often!! It reminds me I want to send an email about the lady at the grocery store today she was so helpful and I forgot an item so she let me quickly go get it when I got back she had but my shopping bag in my trolley! How nice. Always want to share good feedback as often in most places I assume they just hear the negative. So I will get onto that email after, thanks for the reminder 😊.

I LOVE hearing about all your travel!! How good! You would have some amazing stories with all you have experienced. Wow a white Christmas in Canada sounds so good! I haven’t seen snow yet 😆. Very exciting about your cruise later this year! Oh and the Northern lights would be so awesome!! Where else would you like to travel too? ☺️

Re: No Change

Hey @Chasingsunsets

how are you? And how was your day?

I’ve had a fairly crappy day and just finished dinner and now I feel rather sick.

I haven’t seen my support worker all week and looks like she is temporarily down south. I don’t know why. I thought that office was supposed to close. She had another worker who I’ve never meet and know nothing about contactme today via text. This worker wanted to know if I would like a call or a home visit tomorrow? No. No I don’t. After a call with my old SW yesterday I thought she said she was going to be in contact and do home visit when she can. Why now this new one? It’s so destabilizing for me. So detrimental to my mental health having all this chopping and changing. I don’t know how long my SW is going to be down south for. Urgh I’ve been in tears today.

seen my gp today. She probably the only consistent person at the moment. I know she will see me when I need her. But she is so busy. My liver function test has been elevated for a while. Most likely medication or restrictive intake doing something to my bones. Keep an eye on that.

Oh I agree with the good feedback. True that it doesn’t happen very often. Did you send the email off?

I have so many cool travel stories. And you haven’t been to the snow?! I guess it’s not really that uncommon. You often gotta travel so far to get to any snow. I’ve been to the proper snow here in aus. Nice when I was heaps younger with CanTeen- that’s a support organization for teens with cancer. My brother had a brain tumor when we were young teens and they would take us on awesome camps and adventures. And then when I worked with foster kids I organised a camp for a week and took 20 teens down to the snow. It was a crazy week but so fun! I skied both times.

my daughter was heaps interested in the aurora borealis when she was really little and even learnt to say it. So would be heaps awesome to be able to take her there and see it. You can sometimes see some of it in tassie but we didn’t. Where else would I like to go….. love to do Greece… you know the white cliffs and sparkling blue sea. I’d love to do heaps of more Europe countries. An African safari.

what else are you up to?

Re: No Change

Good morning @Chasingsunsets

Things haven't been going that well. I'll be thankful when I get to my psych appt. next week. Problem is I don't think I'll fit everything into 60 mins.

How are you going?

Re: No Change

Morning @Bow, how’s your day going so far?

sorry about your day yesterday. It’s disappointing to hear about your social worker being down south. It understandable you had reservations with the new lady with no warning etc of her communication and how destabilising it is with changing of health workers. I think for some people it’s an attachment and for some it’s just that building of trust and familiarity and knowing they understand you which is the hardest to accept when it’s gone. For me it takes a lot of work to finally feel comfortable with people so then when all of a sudden there’s a change it’s super hard to adjust because you start back at square one- that thought is fatiguing right. Not sure what the answer is though, I wish when things were just ‘going right’ for us or we finally find stabilisation with who is around us. It could just stay that way for a while. I understand when the individual leaves for personal reasons etc but why do organisations change things that are “working”? One because they don’t have the lived experience of feeling it’s worth and always comes down to budget I’d say. It’s so sad.

I wonder if you give it sometime to process if you will feel more comfortable with engaging with the new lady? Who knows you may really like them 😊, it will never discount your main support worker of course.

It’s good to hear you have a supportive doctor. Sorry to hear about your levels. I am glad you and her can work together and monitor those levels 💛

Yesss I did send that feedback off, it definitely takes time out of your day to work out where to post the feedback etc but people efforts and kindness always deserves to be acknowledged I say 😊. Hopefully it will reach her and her managers 🙏

Oh the snow, I thought it’s more uncommon for people not to have seen snow haha. So there you go lol. Skiing looks like lots of fun! Greece looks amazing! I’d love to go there or just to islands where there is good snorkelling. Love snorkelling 🤩🥰🤿

As for me I feel like I’ve just gone over the “handle bars” today of my life bike 🫠. Still in bed but least I have a good view, I’m out at the moment, feels so good to be away. Feels so safe out here but I go back tomorrow and I am wondering if this is why I am not feeling good. How I am feeling is either chemical or just situational and realising I’ll be back tomorrow, I’m not feeling grounded today so it could be the 2nd or both these factors together. It’s so rough. Almost (or am) in a freeze state. I feel so safe out here 💛

Re: No Change

Hey @Chasingsunsets sorry for the delay, how are you doing??

im like you with supports, it takes time to build trust and feel comfortable. I need to be able to built trust in order to feel safe. If I don’t have that sense of safety it’s pointless and becomes more distressing than anything else. So all this chopping and changing of supports really hits me hard. I hate having to start again and explain myself to people, especially sharing my trauma and getting people to understand my ED brain!

How are we suppose to progress or get anywhere in recovery when we are constantly having to start all over again???

and like you I totally understand if people leave or change positions, but to just change your supports around for the sake of it, I will never understand that. It’s absolutely not about an attachment for me. I just need to feel safe. I researched this stuff so much a while back, put in a number of complaints but it got me nowhere.

I had a good chat with my actual SW on Friday which doesn’t happen often. I hate the phone. But she made it easy. She’s going to try see if my old SW can bring this new lady around and do a home visit introduction which will make it a little easier I think.

oh! Going over lifes handle bars sounds really intense! I hope you didn’t break any bones?! Your back home now? How are you doing?
