@NatureLover @EternalFlower I'm so sorry I've been unable to reply to you and others in threads. It's so difficult to use the forums I'm left wondering if I've hacked in and am persona non grata. So I'll step back.

I was also ostentatiously ostracised at my social support group this morning and won't be returning.

It's tough going at present.

Take care, thinking of you and wishing you the best.

Re: Post solstice

Hope your team got you started on therapy as you hoped @EternalFlower and that it's going OK for you.

I'm not sure how many tags I'm missing out on at the moment - I've noticed a few I didn't get notifications for. But I think some people have almost stopped posting.

I used to rely on my subscriptions and favourites a lot on the old platform. It's not so easy now. But I thought I'd reach out and say hello, and sorry I missed replying. Sometimes I'm lost for words and mean to come back later.

Re: Post solstice

Hello @Cuddlebear I thought I'd reach out to see if you'd like to chat here. I know things are hard for you, and that a while back you had trouble tapering so you could start a new med.

I'm glad the Greens secured an extension of the NDIS review. I trust it's given more people the chance to share their stories and advocate. I'm not on NDIS but will have to navigate forthcoming changes in CHSP and aged care.

Wishing you a good day tomorrow.

Re: Post solstice

@Dimity how are you? Are you well today? Thank you for reaching out. It means the world to me that you did. Do you have rhings on today?Sadly I’m no better. I can’t get even a little tiny break from this. I’m very unwell and the tapering is ongoing and really things are hard. It’s good we have more time ablut ndis but I fear that we are going to have our ndis gutted. It’s already happening. I’ll lose a lot of support I need and I’m terrified. I have no one to step in. The aged care is bad too. I’ve seen how hard it is there as well. So much is wrong when government treats us as burdens and we lose essential support. It’s really affecting me.

Hello @Cuddlebear

I'm sorry to hear your tapering woes are ongoing especially as it must be holding you back from trying meds that could be helpful.

Feeling isolated and fearful of loss of supports is very hard, I feel that to some extent too.

I've been in a depressive slump for a while, and don't really have plans. I tend to waste a lot of time doomscrolling, feeling compelled to keep up with current affairs, but so much world news and domestic politics is troubling. I'll walk later - a daily habit. I should be more active.

How do you spend your day? I'd like to get back to reading and gardening but have been challenged a bit by my eyesight.

Re: Post solstice

@Dimity Hello my friend. How are you today? Yes the fear in loss of supports is hard. The tapering is brutal and I’ve been unwell for many months. I’ve had not a moment of relief. I can’t even access help and don’t have anyone to physically be with me. My days are filled with nothing. I’m frozen in panic and anxiety. Lots of depression. I’m deaf and legally blind with peripheral artery disease and thallasemia. So everyrhing compounds.

Re: Post solstice

@Dimity Part 2 as won’t let me type much and post. I hear you on the scrolling and world affairs. I can understand the challenges of sight having them too. I really hope you can get back to reading and gardening. Even in small steps is ok too. Honestly I don’t know what I’d like to do anymore. I feel like I’ve lost myself. I would like to recover and have at least some moments of joy and relief. That would be a good start.

Re: Post solstice

@Dimity wandering how you're doing after some of the really upsetting stuff that happened in the last bit for you, thank you for still checking in on everyone. My therapy started great but then the therapist went on leave the next week - very short leave, but I haven't taken it the best.

Now waiting to see him again in a few days, and feeling like perhaps once i get to the end of the week, i'll feel bright again. Its the sticky bits in the middle. Sending support and just hoping today had brightness.

Re: Post solstice

Hi @Cuddlebear I was out all afternoon. I was lonely and wanted to go out so I worked at the library then came home via a craft shop.

I'm so sorry to hear of your medication problems and inability to taper to start a better med. I wonder if an admission might be possible so you can do it quickly under supervision.

I'm blind in one eye and my vision in the other is quite problematic at times but it's dismissed by doctors and optometrists. It makes me fearful, on top of my bipolar and cptsd.

I'm very concerned to hear you have no company - I would have thought you'd have NDIS enabling domestic help and psychosocial support. Vision Australia provides some services to people who have funding but it's difficult to get help without it.

I think you've said you have a guide dog. I trust they're a boon and a good companion. I lost my elderly cat 3 months ago and miss him very much.

I need to get on top of things, having been in a depressive slump, and revive old interests or find new ones. An older friend has returned to her field of study.

Hoping tonight and tomorrow things shift a little for you. The forums are imperfect but there are caring people, which I appreciate very much, and try to reciprocate.

Re: Post solstice

Hi @EternalFlower that would be upsetting when you're just starting out on the therapy. Hopefully there'll be an upswing once he's back.

I've been really low the last fortnight but I'm trying to get going again. Feeling frozen out of a fortnightly support group didn't help. I'm looking around for alternatives.

It's an uphill battle.
