Hey @Sally77, thank you for adding this discussion point for the community!
This highlights that people who experience mental health have self-determination and demonstrates the value of lived experience. This names a painful situation and ask's an uncomfortable question whilst seeking connection with your peers.
I believe that the community will have some insights to share with this question!
Thanks again 🙂

@Artgirl-80laun since rage can be part of BPD they teach that its not the persons fault, i dont knwo if this helps 😞 i used to scream at my Mum a lot when i was younger, and my Mum thought I had BPD.
Really I was very traumatised and couldn't express myself at all, as I was constantly shut down.
I hope your daughter is doing great, support work is a wonderful job 🙂

@Sally77 people with borderline personality are maligned in public health systems, in certain situations, in my experience.
I think this says more about the staff, and their ability to manage complex settings. Not everything is an easy fix. And that's not a bad thing - just different.
I used to always say this when i was abused at my public m ental health setting - they make it like treating complex trauma is so so hard, but its not that its so hard, its just different. Some conditions respond to medicationa nd some don't - BPD doesn't - but that doesn't make it harder - just different. Ironically, I think a lot of doctors have personality disorders, from my experience. I think its a more common disorder than ppl think, but the treatments just aren't there.
