Hey guys,

How is everyone travelling this Monday afternoon/evening?

How was your day?

I got up early this morning as my husband had to be at the hospital by 7am. I then drove back to my local train station because I was worried that I would forget to get off the train two stops earlier than usual. Then I went to Tafe and finished my first aid course. I had completed the online assessments early, so I was able to leave Tafe at noon. This afternoon hubby and I had a late lunch at Grill'd and then I picked up a parcel box from the post office. Now hubby is having a nap, and I am here on Sane. I have Eat Well for Less playing in the background on the telly because I need background noise.

Re: Monday Meetup

@tyme I was more of a Legacy person historically than RSL. We do have a local RSL that I took my son to a couple times for lunch last year. It has photos and artefacts of the various war where our soldiers served. I enjoyed talking about it with my son. We do not drink alcohol or go to bars so it is not something we do often, but it was good to share a little about my father, his grandfather serving in the Navy. My son’s father was an immigrant and a bit focused on his country of origin, not Australia.

I have reached out for help responsibly all throughout my life, but honestly I observed “the help” was not there for my loved ones, and still that is an issue. One has to be dedicated and resourceful to engage with “the help “. My story is about people falling through the cracks.

Hugs @Oaktree

Re: Monday Meetup

Thank you for sharing your story @Appleblossom @Oaktree . Whatever your story is, it is your story.

We want to make space for you here, just as we would for others.

I think there are things we can all learn from. I can see you have spent time talking to your son a bit about his roots.

I'm sorry to hear that there has been instances of 'falling through the cracks'. We are here for you.

Hey everyone,

It's Monday again...

What have you been up to today?

I slept in because I was soooo tired. Then I went shopping and went to the GP followed by an appointment with my case manager at the local clinic.

What will you do this evening/tonight?

Any plans for the week?

Hi y’all

went to Mona today. In my eyes, The art gallery is extremely exciting. Wow.
What an experience.

how are you @Oaktree @my friend?
my exhaustion is not getting any better however I’m relaxing well.
cygnet in Tasmania looks like a good place to live. A nice coffee and bread and pastry shop down the street in Margate, the I think best cafe in Cygnet, BobBrown lives there, what more do you want ?

hey ho, I hope you all have a great night x

Re: Monday Meetup

Hi @PeppyPatti

I am great tonight thanks for asking my friend.

I got a mark back for an assessment and I was thinking it was not going to be good enough, but I passed so that makes me very happy. I am always happy when I don't have to re-submit.

Tassie is a very pretty place, but it is freezing in the winter. If you move there invest in some thermal underwear. My brother-in-law and his family live there.

Re: Monday Meetup

Howdy everyone

have been quiet recently as I’ve been busy with health and work stuff.

one good thing happened - I got some test results back that shows I am still cancer-free. It was a year ago I found out I had cancer and started surgery and treatment. While it was good news, the scope took a lot out of me.

I also had a trip interstate for work

And saw Oasis when they played over the weekend.

I would love to go to Mona. We are thinking about going to TAS for a holiday next year.

@Magpie22

Great news on the cancer front!!! That is wonderful news. It is understandable that you have been a bit quiet with all that going on.

@PeppyPatti

Tafe has been going well. I am finished classes and am just finishing up my prac hours. I only have about 10 hours left to do. I am doing my Prac here on SANE. I have a project to do while I am on prac but I have that under control at the moment. So all is going well. I am due to graduate on the 9th of December. I will be amazed to actually get my certificate. There have been many times that I have wanted to quit this year because I was overwhelmed and anxious. I have had some personal trauma issues to contend with at the same time as studying. Stuff that bubbled up from my childhood.

@Magpie22

Thank you!

I do feel like it is a huge accomplishment to actually be here finishing. Thanks for your comment. I hope you are feeling ok now. It must be stressful waiting for results to see if you are cancer free?
