Hey guys,

How is everyone travelling this Monday afternoon/evening?

How was your day?

I got up early this morning as my husband had to be at the hospital by 7am. I then drove back to my local train station because I was worried that I would forget to get off the train two stops earlier than usual. Then I went to Tafe and finished my first aid course. I had completed the online assessments early, so I was able to leave Tafe at noon. This afternoon hubby and I had a late lunch at Grill'd and then I picked up a parcel box from the post office. Now hubby is having a nap, and I am here on Sane. I have Eat Well for Less playing in the background on the telly because I need background noise.

Hey guys,

Here we are again!

It's time for the Monday Meetup!!!

What has everyone been up to today.

I went on a wild goose chase this morning. Ran into Tafe hoping that my assessment would still be on my desktop there, but it wasn't. I needed to make a small change. Crisis was averted because I discovered that I was able to download what I had uploaded to assessments. So, I made the changes and resubmitted. Then I had lunch and a quick nap (well didn't sleep but had a lie down for an hour). In the afternoon I went with my support worker to a movie. We saw "Regretting You" and it was really good. Glad I saw it. Also, I got my results back for 4 assessments including the one I had to fix, and they were all satisfactory. I also got some really great comments.

Hey @Oaktree

Great work on your assessment! How long do you have left at TAFE? I'm actually curious how you've been able to use your digital Peer Guide work within your course. I imagine a lot of the course is probably geared towards in-person peer work stuff? Please tell me if I'm wrong though! ♥️

Hi @0ddsidian

yes it’s true that my course focuses on face to face client interactions.

Re: Monday Meetup

@Oaktree That sounded like a full-on day! I'm glad you got an hour to lay down and have a little rest 😊 Fantastic to hear about passing your assessments and the positive feedback, are you feeling proud of yourself? You should be!

Re: Monday Meetup

@Oaktree I only saw your post cos @tyme tagged me. Not sure if I just missed it or what?

BIG congratulations on your assignments. 👏:ok_hand:

Technical stuff can be a nuisance but you seemed to have worked around it.

I did counselling in the norties and group facilitation and work in the 90s. It is great to get training and it holds us in good stead for life.

I had a busy day with 2 choirs. The sun was shining. Some were loving it and some were worried about UV. I tend to enjoy the spring weather, though sometimes it is wild.

cheers 🌲🌿💙🍎

Hi @Appleblossom

Thanks for your message.

You always sound so busy with your musical endeavours. I wish I could make music somehow.

I have my last assessment tomorrow and then I just have to finish prac and do a project.

@Oaktree Hugs

I guess being busy is my normal. I do get a lot of quiet reflective time too.

Just ate yummy chicken sausage sandwiches cooked by my son.

I do believe everyone can do music, There are community choirs and orchestras around. It just depends what people can fit into their schedule.

You are studying and plenty busy too. How have you found the course?

We had pracs, one to one we had to write up. After I finished the counseling at VU, the course coordinator wanted young people she could control, so I moved on and I went back to my old uni and did a grad dip in writing. I was teaching part time piano at home throughout. I don’t apply for jobs. Guess I am shy and with my neck condition don’t want to overcommit, so I just do what I can.

Re: Monday Meetup

@Appleblossom

I have really enjoyed my course and am pleased to say that I have done extremely well.

Funnily enough I used to be part of a non-audition choir but it has a cost which is a bit out of my budget right now. It was a With One Voice choir. They are all over Australia.

I am not sure what I will do next year. I kind of want to keep studying but the assessments have been so gruelling that I am not sure that I want to put myself through that again so soon.

The other option is to look for a peer work job? Or I could do nothing and just stay home with hubby.
