Hey everyone,

How was your day. I was just wondering what you are doing to wind down tonight. This will be a regular Wednesday night chat. I hope you will jump in and get involved.

After I have done a couple of hours on SANE I am going to watch some TV to wind down. Today I went for a very long walk so I am tuckered out. I might even go to bed early. I have Tafe tomorrow afternoon. I have to remember to be there by 12 for a mentoring appointment. I get the morning off because my role play is not until next week.

Looking forward to hearing what you have all been doing today and what you will do to wind down.

Well we did a family swim this evening & dinner by the pool ♡ that was nice. Away from all screens and actually connecting (one of my top values) ~ great thread @Oaktree

Getting the family away from screens is so hard to do but so worthwhile. Kids grow up so fast and before you know it they have moved out and you have missed it. Connection is so important. What did you chat about? I enjoy quality time as well, but I think maybe my love language is words of affirmation.

Re: Wednesday Wind-down

Absolutely 💯 % my love language is also words of affirmation @Oaktree .. hubby saying I'm a great mother or that he loves how I made the dinner etc makes my heart sing (pretty easy to please). He doesnt fully understand this yet even though I've communicated it and often buys me things (that I don't need or want)... when some nice words and an outing to the foreshore together is worth all the jewellery in the world to me.

We spoke about STEM activities our daughter did at a school excursion that day and how fun it was for her to build a little catapult from basic craft material and attempt to launch items to see how far they went (m 'n m's, marshmallows, cottom balls etc) fun !!!

A mini catapult sounds like fun. Especially if you are catapulting marshmallows. If you wet them they will stick to people lol.

I often ask my husband if he loves me. I just want to hear him say it. I guess words of affirmation are pretty easy really. I tell him that I love him quite a lot as well.

On Wednesday I worked from

home and actually stopped work at a sensible time and made mid-week roast lamb for dinner. It was delicious!

then had an early night as I was dropping my son at work at 0600 before PT. I just started a new group PT in a local park and had me second session today. So far I’m really enjoying it.

Hope everyone else is having a great week.

A mid week roast does sound delicious.
I am nowhere near fit enough to do the park fitness classes. Good on you for signing up for it.

I am feeling a bit stressed right now about Tafe. Only 3 weeks to go before prac.

Re: Wednesday Wind-down

I had to do a big prac for my studies last year - it was such an amazing experience. I learned so much but I was really nervous beforehand too.

I think I’m the most unfit person in my fitness class - it’s something I really struggle with - I’m scarred from too many Army PTIs yelling at me for being slow or crap at whatever we were doing for PT but so far this class has been really welcoming. And they have adjusted for my injuries.

That’s great that you feel so welcome and unintimidated at your fitness classes. I have been busily walking every day. I am doing a fundraiser this month.

I have another 3 weeks of Tafe with a ton of assessments in that time. I am a little overwhelmed. Looking forward to seeing my psychologist on Tuesday to discuss matters.

Hi guys,

I didn't end up working on Wednesday. I am here today instead.

What are you doing to wind down tonight?

Today I have been at Tafe. I have been watching Anthony Bourdain - The Layover.

After SANE I will probably go to bed early as well as having dinner.

I have chicken for dinner from Lite n Easy. It comes with thick cut chips and veggies.
