What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share đŸ«¶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to đŸ€Ł

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.


To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

@Chasingsunsets You remembered mt Tuscan kale! Thanks Bella. They are slowly doing their thing and establishing themselves. They are still tiny, but going well. SOme parts of my garden have more pests that chomp my seedlings .... ah ... the web of life.

I love that you and @MissGremlin are at a stage where you can joke about ... ignoring ... etc .... shows there has been good trust built. YAY! Hugs both of you and @Bunniekins @Shaz51

I have the weirdest thing of looking forward to 3 movies this week. One, I saw on Tuesday 'Holy Days' with a friend, and 2 are on Friday. It just organically evolved by; fitting in a with a group for the doco .... and my family and a birthday for The Odyssey! I feel it is very special week, as I can easily go a year without going to the movies, though i love good cinema.

My highlight of the day was being able to make it to the doctors and being heard by her and understood.

Hey thanks, glad you liked it! No, where I live now is far from the beach unfortunately and I do miss that. I do have lots of great shots of it though. Unusual for me to not be near the water...its kinda part of the whole empathy thing. still, the future is yet a blank canvas.

Those sunset pics are gorgeous! I was in Tasmania a few years back on business, staying in Ulverstone and remember seeing a majestic sunset like in those piccies of yours...lovely memory, thank you.

For you, to go with your lovely pics my friend, enjoy...now go get a dictionary ehehehhhhhh (can't help myself, the pics were too lovely to not describe without more accurate colour descriptions.:)

Burnt umber in the distant sky

fulvous, rich, alive

the sunburnt orange warming me

coquelicot and spice

Phlox, ere the sunset

Amaranth, bold and..still

this timeless shade of evening’s brissance

gives me subtle chills

Incarnadine as the darkness follows

creeping, beckons night

the muted calls of birds in trees

herald evening’s stealth

I sit here, awestruck, silently

and feast my eyes, my soul

this evening dance of light and shade

and deep within I know

the power and the majesty

aloft, my thoughts rise high

this final caput mortuum

which turns the day to night

They are beautiful flowers there @DownMoreThanUp ! sorry I didn’t realise you posted some pics! Glad I saw them. I love the white and yellow ones â˜ș. I know @Shaz51 and @Dimity will like these too that you posted đŸ„°

oh yay @MissGremlin ! I am in love with the little prey mantis you found!! He’s so cute! Love his white stripe!!! The colours of the flowers are so vibrant! Did they smell good aswell? 😊. I’m doing ok at the moment esp loving my location so nice out here, very good for the soul. Wish I could just stay out here for life hehe. How are you travelling?Glad you loved my pics! I really want to get a better one of that spider! The web is amazing and they put all the stuff in their nest incase they feel threatened they will hide near it so it just looks like bits of bark or whatever they choose to put in it. Very smart. Unhelpful when you are taking pics because the camera I’m focusing on everything else but the spider đŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł

Ah I see @Icaruslanded ï»ż, it’s brilliant! I did live far from the water at some point in my life too as well. I don’t mind where I live as long as there is some nature somewhere near would be my preference 😊. I hope you have had a good day ☀
