So I took Tab’s advice and emailed the RSL advocates about reapplying to Veterans Affairs. I was put out of the Army medically. Just waiting to hear back from them. Does anyone have any experience with the advocates?

The senior advocate rang me this morning and had me call DVA. Apparently I have been eligible for a white card for years and didn’t know it. I need to apply under the covenant to get my disability linked to my service so they will cover all medical costs for that disability. Just at the library copying all my identity papers. Need to go to local police station to have them certified. Then back to library to scan onto usb so I can email them back

sounds like a big win @Oaktree I only got white car cos brother still in service told me about it. also get like $6.50 a fortnight pharmaceutical allowance. which pretty much anyone can get. not much but after was approved they back paid it, was like $350 lol

I sent everything through to DVA so hopefully will get my white card shortly (well probably in the new year). Will get the advocate to help me apply under the covenant.

The department of Veterans Affairs have approved me for a white card with mental health treatments. I am just waiting for them to issue the card. I have just sent my psych an email to see if they will accept the white card. As soon as they issue the card I will have to let the NDIS know. DVA says 2-3 weeks for the card but I will have a digital copy on MyGov sooner

that was quick @Oaktree everyone gets psych after 2019 decision re white card. i never found a GP who knew anything about the system, need GP referral. i ended up backdooring it thru open arms which is part of DVA. had like 6 free psych visits, could get more if wanted.

Im an Advocate in SA. You dont have to go through the RSL for an Advocate, there are other ESOs that provide Advocacy.
If you want to access your ADF records there is a simple form online that you complete and it takes 6-8 weeks to get them usually.
Now DVA offer Non Liability Health Care (NLHC) for any mental health and you only have to had served 1 day to get this. NLHC gets you a white card and is exactly how it sounds - NO LIABILITY. So it means that the ADF and the Govt are giving health care for mental health without taking responsibility or being liable.
You are only entitled to treatment and will receive no compensation.
You need to put in a full claim for the conditions to get liability and then get compensation.
