Talking through trauma and PTSD

CPTSD

CPTSD

I am not diagnosed with anything except anxiety but don’t take medication for it. A couple Councilors and psychologists have suggested I have autism or CPTSD.

This last week I have had 2 awkward conversations with older men. One is a mentor which i keep trying to get to know him essentially pushing his boundaries, I started the conversation cause i realised how much i was becoming. The second was me asking out a guy 10 years older then me that I haven’t really spoke to.

Re: CPTSD

Hi @fairybread,

Welcome to the forums, I appreciate you sharing with the community.

It sounds like those recent interactions and suggestions from the psychologist and counsellor around CPTSD and autism have been a lot to process. It makes sense to reflect on how those things might relate, to explore what this might mean for you.

When becoming aware of all of this new information, when in that uncertainty it can be a lot to sit with and navigate on your own. There's no pressure to figure it all out right now or have all the answers. Awareness in itself, curiosity to learn more about these experiences might not always feel like it but these reflections are huge steps in this process. It's okay to approach this with curiosity and self-compassion as you explore and learn more about yourself- in your own time. The community is here with you, there's no pressure here-it's a safe space-we welcome and value you here.

With the nature of growing up Autistic in an Allistic world. It's often said that there is no such thing as an Autistic who isn't traumatised through childhood
