There's no light at the end of the tunnel. Sorry this is long ☠️
I'm so exhausted. By this life, the continuous hits and expectations that I'll just roll with the punches because that's what I've always done. But I'm tired of fighting. Of knowing that regardless as to how much I worked, tried and achieved up this point means nothing. Anything ahead is just salt in a wound.
I am in my late 40's and have been a single parent since my children were all very young. It meant uprooting us more times than I care to remember but it was necessary. When we were *finally* able to settle, I was able provide a roof, not a flash but comfy home and above all else safety, security. , It took a long time to find even ground. . Then in August 1999, my eldest died in a house fire just before his 5th birthday. I was maybe 10 feet away and couldn't do anything as we were seperated by a carpet of flames 💔
His youngest brother died in July 2023 due to an aggressive and untreatable cancer, he was almost 18 💔 Each of these changed, effected out close-knit family and in some ways made us closer, other ways not so much.
But I was slowly, painfully finding rhythm. Thinking (hoping?) that I've paid my penance for whatever it is that I've done.. and then in July 2025, the 2 middle brothers aged 28 along with 2 grandkids were involved in a horrific fatal accident. We were coming home from a weekend camping to remember the youngest brothers anniversary. We were 2 cars back behind my boys and grandkids, came up and around the brow of the hill and was met with total and complete carnage 💔☠️😭
These are memories and visual, visceral nightmares, daily flashbacks that I have and I have never figured out how to say any of it out loud...but it's so much...to much and so much else that ties into it that I don't know what to do or process any of it.
I just feel ... done ..
I have stopped trying to explain or for anyone to ever understand one thing I will Never comprehend 💔 People don't want to hear the sad stories. Not really. They don't want to know that such a real, visceral untouchable pain exists.
Over the years sadly as I have had more names to add to the growing list. Outliving my children, grandchildren , and people just don't know, we aren't equipped or programmed to take on that much at once. So they just stop asking or inviting the pain in.
