Housebound

Housebound

I'm in therapy, since my partner's suicide I find it hard leaving the house I've tried small increments and currently trying 1 hr a day going out but that's a tall ask I get 3 days then have no sleep and I'm down and out and don't wanna go anywhere the. Back to square 1 and feel like I'm failing I want my life back but why's everything so bloody hard

Re: Housebound

Hello @Lonnie80 and welcome to the forums. I'm so sorry you're going through this. As someone who has recently gone through many losses of people to suicide that were close to me, I can understand how hard it is. What you've been through is incredibly traumatic and you're carrying a huge amount of grief and trauma that most people can't even begin to understand. The fact that you're still trying even when it's so hard really says so much about your strength. Healing isn't a straight line and the difficult days don't erase the progress you've already made. Try to be gentle with yourself and know that you're not alone ❤️.

Re: Housebound

Hi @Lonnie80

Welcome to the forums and thank you for sharing this.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your partner. What you’re describing sounds incredibly hard, and it makes sense that things feel overwhelming right now. Healing after such a profound loss is rarely a straight line, and having difficult days does not mean you’re failing or back at square one.

It’s wonderful that you’re in therapy and gently trying to take those small steps outside. Those efforts matter, even when progress feels slow.

I hope you find this space supportive and that others who have experienced grief can share what has helped them along the way 💛
