Relationships - Why are they so hard?
Hi all.
I have an intense history of dysfunctional relationships.
i tend to obsess over someone until they run away from my clingy behaviours which are also sometimes controlling, stalker-ie and overbearing. Usually I have one friend or partner I am like this towards at a time. I guess from my understanding they’re referred to being my “favourite” person. In the case now that person is my partner. We’ve been together just over a year. I hate it when he leaves me, planned, not planned, work or social. I just need to be around him 24/7 and if I’m not I am CRAZZY like obsessive…. Checking his location on socials, calling, texting, I will tell him over message when I’m leaving the house when I get home where I am going who I am with and if he doesn’t do the same I flip my lid…. Like panic… thinking he’s cheating, lying, doing something he shouldn’t be or worse in jail or dead. This causes me to react by blowing up his phone more. His friends phone, family phones…
worst part I CANT STOP MYSELF. Ever.
prior to meeting my boyfriend, it was my guy best friend…. Whilst not as possessive it was still intense… obsessive. Now I still love my best mate but he distanced himself from me as yes, I was to much…. It broke my heart like no tomorrow… shattered me.
then in other cases with friends and what not… we hang out, talk on the regular, I like them build meaningful relationships together and then I find myself either sabotaging the relationships or just ghosting them…
these are things I know I do but don’t know why and I cannot control my outburst, my tears or my action when I feel that they’re pulling away or becoming to close….. wtf.
I have been diagnosed with BPD, PTSD and DID.
anyone got any hot tips or tricks?
