Welcome and getting started

MDD and change of medications

MDD and change of medications

Hi all, I just wanted to connect with others who have had recent medication changes and have had side effects and just to get reassurance that medications will work. I am just overwhelmed.

Hi @LizD and welcome to the forums.

It's great that you've taken the step in reaching out about this and can understand that this can be pretty overwhelming. I did just want to highlight that the way you've broached this topic is great, and put a gentle reminder for any replies from our lovely and helpful community to remain general when discussing medications and not mention any medication names.

I look forward to seeing how the community can support you through this time and I'm glad you're here

Thank you. Is this a Melbourne-based organisation?

Re: MDD and change of medications

Hello @LizD I have also recently changed or modified my medication intake regime for my MDD.

I had been taking the previous medication for quite some time and it's benefits had reduced substantially. Leading to few admissions to a psychiatric hospital over the course of a year

While I did experience some side effects, mainly, skin irritation and some increased anxiety I was in hospital and therefore managed.

I am now feeling better overall and while I still have bad days I am dealing with them better somewhat.

I understand that you are feeling a bit overwhelmed but can say that in MY experience the change has been successful to date.

I hope this helps assuage your fears. All the very best @Taali

Don't think I have crossed any lines @Ru-bee

I think it may be Melbourne based, but you'll find members from all over Australia here.
