@TAB I dont know why the cat bit me for no reason but saw this on AI the other day. I dont appreciate your allegations of telling me I am responsible for animal cruelty. I used to work for the RSPCA as a cold caller raising funds for them in the 1990's when I had a casual job with them to pay for university.

Cats do not bite for "no reason"; such behavior is typically a response to overstimulation, pain, or misdirected hunting instincts.

• Overstimulation: The most common cause is excessive petting, which can overwhelm a cat's sensitive nerve endings, causing them to bite to signal they have had enough.
• Pain or Medical Issues: Sudden biting can stem from underlying conditions like dental disease, arthritis, or feline hyperesthesia syndrome, which make touch painful or hypersensitive.
• Play or Predatory Instinct: Cats may bite during play if they were weaned early and didn't learn bite inhibition, or if they are redirecting pent-up hunting energy onto a person.
• Fear or Defense: A cat may bite defensively if it feels threatened, startled, or stressed by changes in its environment.
