Navigating threads.

@Captain24 in the thread I've tagged you in before, if you go back a page or 2 the posts are usually there. For some reason they aren't showing in date/time order which is frustrating but sometimes it's just a matter of going through the pages until you can locate them. I know it's hard and makes it a bit stressful trying to communicate but know that I'm here and you're not alone trying to navigate the glitches at the moment ❤️.

@heartathome this might help with finding posts. It's hit and miss as sometimes they show up with the link other times they don't and I have to go hunting for them a couple of pages back. Sending lots of love and hugs sweetheart ❤️.

Re: Navigating threads.

I’m going to step away for a little bit. The forums are really hurting me right now. I’m feeling unsafe and it’s what is best for me at the moment. I’ve been doing well up until now, trying to see the good things but it’s just gotten too much. Too much anxiety and too many triggers and I just can’t take it with my lack of mental capacity. I wasn’t safe enough to go to work and now not on here. I’m really sorry.

Re: Navigating threads.

Hello @Taali

I'm feeling for you! I'm sorry to hear you're struggling! I wish I could say something to help. I'm struggling with depression myself atm. A psychologist told me today that behind depression is loss. I can relate to that. I feel a loss with the forum we had! Everything on here is so hard now and I struggle to find the motivation to get on! I find it overwhelming. I also feel a loss with a friendship I have. It's changed and the connection is scattered, unreliable and much less than it used to be. Lack of sleep isn't helping either. I went out this morning for the first time in weeks to watch the sunrise. It didn't happen as I'd hoped. The sun was behind rain clouds. I've been hiding inside and isolating. When I've had trouble putting groceries away, I'd just put the frozen and fridge stuff in and leave the rest. It can wait! Hang in there Taali. I'm sure things will improve. I still have some hope! Sending you hugs and much love ❤️

Re: Navigating threads.

@MissGremlin It won’t let me see threads I’m tagged in or reply. It also says site not working till July 1 and I also get a 500 error whatever that is.

Re: Navigating threads.

Hey @Cuddlebear I can hear your frustration and confusion. I'm not sure why you're getting information that states the site is not available until tomorrow, as the forums are very much here and live right now. If you're feeling up to it, the best way to address the tech issues is to take screenshots of the error and write out as many details as you can about what is going wrong (including info like: your web browser, whether you are using mobile or computer, and whether you're using wifi or phone data) and send it in an email to forumstechnicalbugs@sane.org.

Sending some hugs, it's a difficult time for us all <3

Re: Navigating threads.

@Taali, sorry to hear you are feeling this way. I have been there, still get it from time to time, so I might be able to offer you some help here: If you find yourself in the situation where you dread the night, it is normally because the subsconscious has free reign and tends to communicate with us through dreams, many of which we do not remember. Of those we do, some can feel scary, primarily because the brain feeds back things we worry about through our dreams through symbols.

I have kept a dream journal for some time now and I tend to like to lucid dream. It is harder to control your dreams when life is causing large amounts of stress, so we default to the more passive kind. Having a very vivid imagination can make it feel worse!

What you can do is set a small goal to get yourself moving, and move forward in small steps. As ridiculous as it might seem, putting away things in smaller groups if it seems too hard all at once can work well, as with groceries, or putting away laundry. You see, when we are struggling mentally and emotionally, we tend to beat ourselves up because we expect to be able to work to our normal set of standards. This is setting yourself up to fail though, because your standards are subjective and your self-esteem has a lot to do with what those standards are (what you perceive is possible at any given time). My advice would be to take things in very small steps and then get yourself to feel good for passing each small milestone. This will give you forward momentum.

Lastly, we can only control our thoughts at the end of the day. We cannot control how others react with accuracy, nor can we control events. Therefore, focus on what is within your control, don't worry about the rest. Life has a strange way of working out the dross anyway. Be kind and be gentle to yourself, as you would a good friend who needed help....be your own bestie my friend. Take care.
