Seeking opinions and advice

Seeking opinions and advice

Hi I'm eighteen, I just wanted to get someone's opinion on my situation.

Since May 2024? (My memory hasn't been really good lately), I've been hearing people it is consistent all the time and I can't make it stop. My friends keep telling me that I'm acting strange I'm saying things are there, or that something is happening when it actually isn't (I thought they were messing around with me but then my teachers started bringing it up). I want to tell someone desperately, I hate it, all I seem to feel is paranoia. I don't enjoy things anymore, i don't care much for anything or anyone, I use to struggle a lot with depression and it seems I can't even feel depressed anymore. All there is is this constant sense of paranoia in everything I do, even when I'm alone. I've tried reaching out to anyone I can, but anytime I try it's like my mind physically won't allow me to say the words, I try writing it down and my body won't let me hand over the paper. Even as I type this I'm unable to say the full extent of what's happening or specifically what my experiences are. I'm just hoping this is enough for someone to help because I'm lost, I have no idea what's going on, only that it seems that everything I think is going on around me is real, people are telling me differently.

Re: Seeking opinions and advice

I'm sorry you're experiencing this. It sounds awful and terrifying. Big big mumma hugs if you allow them.

Are you seeing a counsellor or a psych of some description? This would probably be better discussed in a clinical situation to help you understand what's, going on. Sounds like your brain is doing some tricky stuff.

I would suggest taking a screenshot if this and showing it to someone you trust so you can get help since it seems so hard to talk about it in any format.

All I can say is, just breathe through every moment. You survived the last moment and you can survive the next; you are seen and heard.

https://headspace.org.au/

I think headspace is the drop in for young peeps

I don't think young people say "Peeps" anymore. Maybe 20 years ago

But since you are 18, either headspace or your GP is first point of call, to my knowledge

And I think Kids helpline (24 Hrs) 1800 55 1800

Up to age 26. It gets better reviews than older adult services
