I Came here for discussion regarding my partners behaviour
My partners behaviour is out of control. Every morning I wake up, make breakfast with my daughter. We talk, listen to abc kids, dance play, you just sit with each other. I suffer from chronic pain so some mornings I get more done than others, but most importantly I am there for my daughter and we try to enjoy the morning routine.
My partner sleeps in. She’s pissed if anyone talks to her in the morning. She eventually gets up filled with rage and starts furiously doing her morning routine, and complaining about everything and god help anyone who gets in her way.
so the other morning her day looks like : go to gym,
come home have breakfast, then go to a day spa for 2 hours, no kids for 6 hours… after the gym she is furious at all of us for existing in the house. Our 3 year old daughter want to talk to her but she just ignores her and causes a screaming match between both of them. Eventually it all deteriorates to the point she won’t talk to us.
next day I have a pain flare up and come home from work. I’m unable to do anything for the day. She rages around the house saying things like I have to do everything around here. She never asks why I’m home or what’s going on. The neighbours knew an ambulance came to the house because the pain was so bad I’m my neck and shoulders I thought I was having a stroke. The neighbours checked up on me through the day. But not once did she ask about my welfare. The reason I wanted to share this here is because moments like these I’ve shared on social media and it’s just a constant messages from woman saying it’s misogyny to expect your partner to show any compassion.
Anyway, I cannot compute the reasoning behind this attitude if the alternative to me being home sick would be for me to be at work…either way I’m not available to help out at that time. But also I was available to spend time with my daughter, presumably lightening the load slightly on my partner.
day 3 and she wakes up. Her day is busy today, but it involves playgroup and swimming lessons for our daughter. I’m home again but today can help out around the house today. She gets up, doesn’t acknowledge any of us and then rages at us about the few dishes we used at breakfast.
Any and all of the commitments to family activities I’m 💯 happy to take on and do when I’m able too, which is most of the time.
im just really really perplexed as to why my partner is so so horrible to us most of the time. I’m going to guess that most of you will assume that the work load with parenting and the household is unequal but we work very hard to keep things equal…although it doesn’t always work like that.
Honestly I can’t wait to get myself out of this situation. Three things are holding me back. 1 when she’s not like this I really love her. 2. I want to my daughter everyday. 3. I don’t think my partners attitude to life is healthy for my daughter to experience if I’m not there to mediate.
Thanks for letting me share. I’d love to know your thoughts?
