Hey @Rika74
First off, I want to acknowledge how incredibly heavy and devastating this is. A 6-year relationship ending so abruptly, and with the added shock of the secret house loan, is an absolute blindside. It makes complete sense that you are reeling. Anyone would be! 💚
Because you mentioned being in recovery and feeling at high risk of relapse, your absolute number one priority right now is your sobriety. Everything else, the housing search, the long-term planning, can only happen if you stay on solid ground.
If you have a sponsor, a regular meeting or a recovery group, reach out to them today. Let them know exactly where your head is at. You don't have to carry the urge to relapse alone.
Also, keep your daughter safely in the loop. At 17, she's old enough to understand that you are hurt and navigating a massive life transition. You don't have to be perfect for her; seeing you acknowledge the pain while actively leaning on your support systems is actually setting a powerful example for her.
Please don't try to solve the whole relocation problem today. Just look at listings for 15 minutes, or make one phone call/email to a real estate agent to see if they might be able to help (they may have upcoming properties not listed yet.)
You mentioned wanting to come out the other end of this, and that tells me there is a deep reservoir of resilience in you, even if it feels buried under shock right now 💚
