Shoulder to Shoulder: Veteran Families

Anzac Day

Anzac Day

Hello families,

I was wondering what Anzac Day experiences are like for you? In my family my son always comes to the service with me but my partner and other child don’t. And when I march, my mum and dad always watch the march on tv to see if they can see me.

I know that the day can bring up lots of feelings for families when service has impacted their loved one - like veterans it’s probably a mix of positive and negative.

I have noticed in the last few years that there is growing recognition of the support from families and the impact of service on them too which is nice.

what was your Anzac Day like?

@tyme can you do your magic and tag users - I don’t know where to find the forum contributors

Thank you everyone for sharing @RiverSeal @Magpie22 @MatchaToad @HelloKitty1981 @GalaxyGuide ,

What a powerful moment that we can come together to commemorate our soldiers and remember Australia's past to get to where we are now.
