Unclear about Recovery Club process

Unclear about Recovery Club process

Hi

I recently joined Recovery Club and I am a bit confused about how to apply myself to the recovery process.

I have watched the intro video and attempted the workbook forms and attended several zoom meetings.

My questions so far are:

1. How do I pick recovery goals and action plan items when I am overwhelmed and discouraged by that? Any goal I pick is one of several dozen seemingly equally consequential ones, or are spread across easy and medium and hard. If I pick a short term goal and fail to complete it, that is almost more discouraging than for a longer term goal.

I was advised to relate goals to my values, but I couldn't see that clearly. The stuff I SAY are my values but dont act on seems important but not actually motivating. The stuff I already act on a least some of the time seems like not much of change for recovery.

2. What happens to the recovery plan after you make it up? I thought the fortnightly zoom club meetings were a place where we might check in on action plans and progress but no one mentions them that I saw.

3. How do we apply ourselves to the CHIME topics? I couldn't see how the zoom topic meetings might progress beyond repeating the same powerpoint slides. Do i pick one letter and try and work out how to grow in that area e.g. connection?

@7cough9

Hi friend, you can bring some of these questions to the fortnightly catch-up zooms. You are not expected to do it all at first. It might take some time to work out. Please don't put so much pressure on yourself. Ask the facilitators for help or maybe email them to ask for help.

Hi @7cough9 @MedicinalGypsy With the festive season coming up, as well as a few improvements that will be coming into effect in the new year, there will be a bit of a pause in SANE's services (other than the forums, we're here 24/7, 365!). An email should have gone out but if you've missed it groups will return Monday Jan 19

I feel the same way. I could not watch the video. There is something about the audio that hurts my ears. Sounds dumb I know but it makes me really uncomfortable. I gave feedback about it but got no kind of reply. I think started the recovery plan. When I looked at the 20 page! form it just freaked me out and then the word turned into a mixed up mess 😞 It sound like you got along a lot more than ne I just don't know what to do or were to do it. I get no emails or reminders. I did get one text message about a survey that I needed to long in and do. So I logged in thinking there would be a notification or something on the main page but there was not. Then up the top was nothing about surveys but there was a little arrow pointing down and I clicked on that and there was drop menu with Surveys on it. funny that he thing they want you to is totally hidden from you. I hate to say it. But I'm kind glad I'm not the only one lost it make's me feel less dumb 😞
