I went to police for help in a coercive control matter and the other person I was concerned about had quite a past. Yet, I was referred to my local community mental health team as the mentally ill person needing assertive community treatment. I wonder if they thought I actually was the perpetrator. They did not give me access to any liaison officer either, as someone with neurodiversity.
