I feel a lot more comfortable using an anonymous forum over one whereby I have to let people know my real name. I value the anonymity guideline - this is certainly something that draws me to these forums over other social media platforms.

The anonymity of these forums allows everyone to be their unique and authentic selves. That adds to the privacy of each individual to get support for what they are going through rather than any judgements that are often (unfortunately) made for those with MH issues in the wider world.
